Ahead of his LC:M presentation, Mehmet Ali, design director at the classic Savile Row brand, explains his influences
“This season’s inspiration began with us looking at Hardy Amies’ interior designer, William Haines. We started exploring a substantial body of work from Hardy’s own personal interior design collection. Specifically prints from his range from the 1970s, and the influence of William Haines’ work on Hardy as a designer, formed the beginnings of the story and provided an interesting colour palette to work with – as seen in this woven grid pattern. The idea of Hardy’s working relationship with the Califoria-based interior designer provided an element of lifestyle and travel to the collection.”
